Family is always a huge issue and it really doesn’t matter whether you’ve just moved here yesterday or many generations ago.

in reply to: Biggest surprises? #14453I think it’s fair to say that these are my opinions but I also followed those opinions with actions – i.e. I was so horrified by what I saw that I pulled my kids out of public school and put them through private school at a huge cost from 1st grade on.
in reply to: Biggest surprises? #14451I’m so glad you paid attention to this and brought it up. Hawaii’s culture is incredibly complicated. The Aloha Spirit is real but it doesn’t mean unconditional love. Hold on to this thought as it deserves a live discussion.
