I haven’t finished the Buying a House course, but I wonder if an item under the Member Extras section might answer your question.

If you go to the Member Extras tab at the top of the page, then go to Student Q&A. Under that is a section titled:
Housing: Banking Recommendation?
What’s a good way to go about finding the right bank?

I wonder if it will give the information you are looking for.

The hardest concept is that it is not only ok to not have a job lined up before you get to Hawaii, but you should expect that you will be unlikely to have a job lined up before you get here and should plan on “floating” while you are building your network and connecting with the community. Definitely a situation for patience.

I was surprised by how frank you were about the lower quality of the public schools and I was surprised by how expensive the private schooling would be.
Fortunately, we don’t have school-aged children, so it won’t be an issue for us, but the situation for schooling was worse than I expected.
